Clients investing through asset management giant BlackRock purchased approximately $453.96 million worth of Bitcoin in a single transaction. The massive order flowed directly into the iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT). This single-day acquisition contributed to a weekly inflow total of $1.33 billion for the fund, marking one of its highest weekly volume periods as institutional investors continue allocating capital to regulated digital asset products.
Investors using BlackRock have completed a major cryptocurrency allocation, acquiring nearly $454 million in Bitcoin through a single transaction.
The single order amounted to exactly $453.96 million and was routed through the firm’s flagship spot Bitcoin exchange-traded fund, the iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT). On-chain monitoring services and blockchain tracking firms, including Arkham Intelligence, logged the transaction activity as funds moved into wallet addresses managed by the investment manager.
The large purchase contributed to a strong period of institutional demand for the fund. Between August 17 and August 25, BlackRock clients directed a combined $1.33 billion into IBIT. This total marked the largest weekly inflow for the product since October 2025.
During this buying surge, Bitcoin traded near $78,000 per coin. The significant inflow into IBIT highlighted the ETF’s central role in capturing institutional demand across the broader market for spot cryptocurrency funds in the United States.
Currently, the iShares Bitcoin Trust holds between $59 billion and $60 billion in assets under management. The fund routinely accounts for over 75% of total daily capital inflows across all U.S. spot Bitcoin exchange-traded products.
Since launching in January 2024, IBIT has accumulated tens of billions of dollars in client capital. Institutional participants frequently choose the vehicle because of its high market liquidity and the ability to gain digital asset exposure without holding private security keys directly.
BlackRock leadership has publicly noted that many institutional clients view Bitcoin as a portfolio diversification tool. Because the asset historically exhibits low correlation with traditional stocks and bonds, investors often allocate funds to it during specific macro environment shifts or rebalancing cycles rather than at a constant daily rate.
The $454 million transaction underscores the scale at which institutional capital enters digital asset markets through established financial products. As IBIT continues to command a dominant share of total daily ETF inflows, large-scale client allocations demonstrate sustained institutional engagement with regulated Bitcoin investment vehicles.
